About Me

Hi there, welcome to my site! My name is Yihong Ding, and I'm a set designer based in Los Angeles. Having moved here from Shanghai in 2012, LA has been home to me for a number of years now. I am an AFI alumnus, and I've been a part of the IATSE LOCAL 800 Director's guild since 2019. During the time, I have worked on a diverse array of TV shows and movies, spanning period pieces to sci-fi blockbusters. Some notable names include Star Trek: Picard, Orville, and Rebel Moon.

As my career has grown, my work has been enabled by the ability to contemplate, commit, and continuously learn, so I may reach for professional excellence. To further my learning, I also teach Introduction to Concept Modeling with Rhino to second-year students at AFI once a week. In the spare time that remains, I learn karate, practice my artistic skills, or find myself among the birds and the trees.
